We can forget how our teachers and school friends were called, but the names of those who offended us in childhood remain in memory forever. Explain why we remember our offenders again and again.
Ask your friends about their children’s insults, and you will understand that not only you are tormented by the “ghosts of the past”. Everyone has something to remember.
A list of ten reasons why we cannot forget resentment is useful to see many. Adults who were offended in childhood
– so that they can realize what happened to them, and thus solve the current problems. Children and adolescents who are humiliated at school – to understand why this is happening, and try to resist the offenders. Finally, the initiators and participants in the persecution so that they think about what deep injury to those who are mocking and changed their behavior.
Our offenders: why can’t we forget you?
1. You made our life unbearable
You did not like that someone wore “wrong” clothes, was too high or low, full or thin, too smart or stupid. It was so uncomfortable for us to know about our features, but you also began to make fun of us in front of others.
You enjoyed because they publicly humiliated us, experienced the need for this humiliation, did not allow us to live calmly and happily. These memories cannot be erased, just as it is impossible to stop experiencing feelings associated with them.
2. We felt helpless in your presence
When you poisoned us with your friends, helplessness intensified many times. The worst thing was that we felt guilt because of this helplessness.
3. You made us feel terrible loneliness
Many could not tell at home what you did with us. If someone decided to share with his parents, he only received a useless advice that he should not pay attention. But how can one not notice the source of torment and fear?
4. Perhaps you don’t even remember that we often missed the lessons
In the morning we had a stomach, because we had to go to school and endure torment. You caused us physical suffering.
5. Most likely, you did not even realize how omnipotent were
You have caused anxiety, depression and physical diseases. And these problems did not disappear after we graduated from school. How healthier and calmer we could be if you were never there.
6. You have deprived us of the comfort zone
For many of us, the house was not the best place, and we liked to go to school … until you began to torment us. You cannot even imagine what hell you turned our childhood!
7. Because of you, we cannot trust people
Some of us considered you friends. But how can a friend behave in this way, dissolve rumors and tell others terrible things about you? And how to believe to others after that?
8. You have not given us a chance to become different
Many of us still prefer to remain “small”, inconspicuous, shy, instead of doing something outstanding and attracting attention. You have taught us not to stand out from the crowd, and already in adulthood, we hardly learned to accept our characteristics.
9. Because of you we had problems at home
The anger and irritability that were intended for you spilled out at home.
10. Even for those of us who managed to succeed and learned to relate positively, these memories are extremely painful
When our children reach the age at which we were poisoned, we are worried about the fact that they will also be poisoned, and this anxiety is transmitted to our children.
